Firefighters, dispatched late Wednesday night (Oct. 24) to a residential structure fire in the Pine Grove area, arrived to find a three story structure with the basement/ bedroom area well involved in fire. Fire personnel arrived at scene approximately 6 minutes after the 10:59 P.M. dispatch to the house fire at 17780 Redberry Lane. Prior to emergency responders arriving, the occupants of the house were able to safely escape the fire to an area outside of the home.  The Red Cross was called to assist the displaced residents, a husband and wife, and eight children. Firefighters were able to quickly stop the spread of fire and contained it to the basement story of the structure.  The monetary loss to the 4,000 sq. ft. residence is estimated at $150,000 to the structure and $100,000 to contents. The cause of the fire has not been determined.Responding to the fire were, Amador Fire Protection District, Cal Fire, Ione, and Jackson Fire departments.  The ACSO, American Legion Ambulance and the Red Cross also responded.Story from press release, edited by Tom Slivick, This email address is being protected from spambots.
