CHP Consulting With The City of Sutter Creek

According to the CHP officials the opening of the Amador County Unified School District’s new transportation facility located off of Ridge Rd & Bowers Lane is a concern to them, not the development of a nearby property.
A vegetation fire was reported this morning just across the Amador County line in the North Camanche Parkway area 4-5 mile north of Liberty Rd and Hwy 88. Local Jackson Valley Fire and CalFire crews responded to the 4:10 am blaze with 2 engines from each agency. Within moments a dozer from CalFire’s Sutter Hill station was also called for by crews on scene. The 2-3 acre grass fire was quickly contained by crews
The City of Ione is proud to announce that the Police Department has recently been awarded first place in the 2006 California Law Enforcement Challenge competition for Police Department’s with 10 officers or less. The Law Enforcement Challenge is a competition between similar sizes and types of law enforcement agencies.  It recognizes and rewards the best overall traffic safety programs in the United States.
slide2Last evening around 6 pm The Amador County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson Valley Fire and American Legion Ambulance all received the worst kind of call at Lake Camanche North Shore Day Use area: a call regarding a missing person, last seen near the water. As the Sheriff’s Department coordinated the search, fire and medics arrived on scene. The subject was located around 6:19 pm by search crews and waiting medics immediately began life saving efforts. An air ambulance was ordered to transport the victim and then cancelled as emergency personnel opted to transport the patient to Sutter Amador Hospital instead. There is no word yet this morning on the victim’s conditition.
This morning around 4:30 am Jackson Fire Crews were called to a fire at 833 Vogan Toll Rd at the Law Offices of Stephen Zalkind. The fire was reported by the first Jackson Police officer on scene to be a fully involved structure. Fire crews from Jackson and CalFire arrived on scene within minutes with two engines a piece. The structure by this time was fully ablaze and concerns turned to limiting the spread of the fire to the surrounding fields. The fire was under controlled by 5:07 am with Jackson Chief Mark Morton asking for Ione City Fire to respond with their rehab support unit as the Jackson and CalFire crews will be on the scene for mop up for quite some time. The cause of the fire is under investigation and the home was a total loss. Jackson Fire Chief Mark Morton had this to say about the fire.

Test of Golden One Alarms Backfires

slide18Local law enforcement’s presence in the Raley’s shopping center startled many local shoppers Monday morning. Apparently, the Golden One Credit Union in the Raley’s Shopping Center attempted to conduct an alarm test around 10 am and according to Jackson Police Officer Jeff Courtney that test failed. Officer Courtney said Golden One’s alarms communication failed to alert local law enforcement authorities of the alarm test so when the alarm sounded the signal came through as an actual holdup alarm at the Golden One Credit Union. The Jackson Police Department along with backup assistance from the Sutter Creek Police Department responded to find that it was only a test.

Missing Pioneer Man Found Safely

slide10The search for a Pioneer man ended happily Friday afternoon after the man was found by Amador County Search and rescue personnel. Sheriff’s Department officials received a call Friday morning  around 9 am that William Pauli, 86 of Pioneer had wandered away from his Deer Ridge Rd home. Due to his age and a medical condition the sheriff’s department considered him missing and at risk.
A ”Be On The Look Out” was issued for two men in a green Toyota RAV4 that had reportedly stolen a fishing pole at the Bear River Reservoir. A resident at Bear River Reservoir called in a complaint to the Sheriff's Office that someone had stolen a fishing poll and a can of gas from his residence. The resident was able to provide law enforcement with a license plate number for the thieves, and Amador County Sheriff’s Dispatch reported that the plate came back to a stolen motor vehicle.
