A ”Be On The Look Out” was issued for two men in a green Toyota RAV4 that had reportedly stolen a fishing pole at the Bear River Reservoir. A resident at Bear River Reservoir called in a complaint to the Sheriff's Office that someone had stolen a fishing poll and a can of gas from his residence. The resident was able to provide law enforcement with a license plate number for the thieves, and Amador County Sheriff’s Dispatch reported that the plate came back to a stolen motor vehicle.

Deputies then began searching for the vehicle and a sharp eyed Deputy spotted the car headed west bound on Highway 88. The car then stopped at a gas station and the Deputy attempted to conduct a felony traffic stop. The driver and occupant, however had other ideas fled the scene in the car and the chase was on. The driver of the car turned onto Shakeridge road, traveling at speeds in excess of 65 miles per hour while attemptimg to evade the Deputy. The driver then sped down a driveway and lost control rolling the vehicle. Immediately, one occupant of the car was taken into custody. The second occupant of the car attempted to flee, and was pursued by a Deputy with a canine.  The dog cornered the suspect and he then, according to the Deputy, assaulted the dog with a log.  At that point the Deputy tazed the suspect and took him into custody as well. Medics were then summoned to the scene to check the medical welfare of the suspects who were identified as two Lodi men.
