slide22Yesterday afternoon a car spotted with out any license plates leaving the Jackson Rancheria Casino was identified as a stolen vehicle after Jackson Rancheria Tribal police became suspicious of the vehicle and its occupants. Once questioned by the tribal police the driver and passenger fled the Rancheria and as law enforcement moved in on the driver and passenger, the driver decided to move on out, at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. According to the California Highway Patrol the car, identified as a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, was spotted leaving the Jackson Rancheria Casino. A Be On The Look Out was broadcast countywide for the car reported stolen out of Fairfield on April 30th.
slide25 The Suburban was then spotted by Amador CHP Unit Sergeant Roderick Sloan. Sgt. Sloan heard the broadcast while he was driving east bound on Highway 16 and observed the vehicle pass him westbound.  Sloan made a u-turn to investigate and confirmed he had the vehicle in sight and that it was occupied by a male driver and female passenger. Sloan continued to follow the Suburban on Hwy 16 with the driver of the stolen car, at times exceeding 110 miles per hour on the two lane roadway. Sloan radioed for a back up unit and other CHP units and a CHP helicopter responded. The vehicle proceeded on west bound Hwy. 16 in a reckless manner until the vehicle began to run out of gas. The driver then turned into the Rancho Murrieta South development, pursued by Sloan and the back up units. Sloan then executed a felony traffic stop on the occupants of the vehicle identified as Jonathan Coyne, 28 of Vacaville and Emily Johnston, 33, also of Vacaville. The two were arrested by CHP Officer Frank Peixoto and transported to the Amador County Jail on the charges including driving a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and reckless driving.
