Proposed Public Workshops PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 12 February 2008
Debbie Dunn, creator and host of the Amador County Government 101 Workshops, gave an update to the Administrative Committee on Monday. Updates included attendance statistics, evaluation results and proposed future steps. Dunn indicated that all of the County’s goals had been met, and was especially delighted by some unexpected outcomes. According to Dunn, County employees, department heads and elected officials appeared to feel better about their jobs now that they’ve had the opportunity to explain their roles in a public forum. Dunn offered congratulations to all County employees for the pride, cooperation and professionalism they brought to the event.  She also thanked the Board of Supervisors and Terri Daly for quickly getting on board with the original workshop idea. Dunn explained that she was changed by the experience of reeducating herself on the Democratic process. Future proposed workshops include creating a volunteer Public Education and Outreach corps and holding quarterly classes in order to encouraging public involvement in the many organizations and agencies in the county. Dunn gave a special acknowledgement to TSPN for repeat broadcasts of the workshop session, potentially reaching 18,000 viewers.
