Man missing from Bear River Reservoir located

On Monday April 21, 2014 at approximately 1423 hours, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing person at Bear River Reservoir. The caller reported that he, along with several friends, including 19 year old Lodi resident Anthony Davalos had spent Sunday April 20, 2014 at Bear River Reservoir fishing and kayaking.

The caller stated that early in the evening Davalos had said he wanted to walk around the lake and was last seen walking near the boat launch at approximately 2100 hours. The caller reported that he and several people in the party spent the night looking for Davalos but they were not successful in locating him and wanted to report him as missing.

Amador County Sheriff’s Deputies, Amador County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, and a CHP helicopter all responded to Bear River Reservoir to assist in the search.

At approximately 1900 hours, a citizen reported that a person matching the description of Davalos had been seen near Sugar Pine Campground. An Amador County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the area where he located Davalos. Davalos was not injured and needed no medical attention.
