Jackson man arrested, charged with evading arrest

On 04/14/2014, at approximately 11:12 AM, Jackson Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a 2005 red Audi. The Driver of the Audi, 29 year old Chadwick Van Anda of Jackson was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Domestic Violence. Van Anda failed to yield to the officer’s patrol vehicle emergency lights and accelerated above the legal speed limit in an attempt to evade the officer.

While attempting to flee in his vehicle, Van Anda collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 49 and Argonaut Lane (No further details at the time of this press release. CHP investigating, no major injuries). After colliding with the vehicle, Van Anda failed to stop and continued on Highway 49 towards Sutter Creek.

At this time, Sutter Creek Police Department became involved in the pursuit. Van Anda then collided with a second vehicle near Highway 49 and Ridge Road (No further details at the time of this press release. Sutter Creek Police Department investigating, no injuries). After colliding with the second vehicle, Van Anda continued to evade law enforcement.

Van Anda was eventually apprehended after he attempted to loose law enforcement by driving up a private driveway off of China Graveyard Road and fleeing on foot, towards Rolling Wood Estates. Through the combined efforts of the Jackson Police Department, Sutter Creek Police Department, Amador County Sheriff’s Office, Amador County Combined Narcotics Task Force, and CHP, Van Anda was taken into custody without further incident.

In addition to his outstanding warrant charge, Van Anda is facing Hit and Run charges and evading arrest.
