River Pines man arrested, charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale

On December 16, 2013 at approximately 0111 hours, an Amador County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the Amador Ridge Shopping Center. The deputy observed a white pickup truck parked in a poorly lit section of the parking lot. When the deputy illuminated the pickup he saw a white male slide down into the seat in an apparent effort to avoid detection. A registration check of the vehicle showed the registered owner had an active felony warrant of arrest.

The deputy made contact with the subject and lone occupant of the vehicle. During the contact, the deputy noticed the subject appeared nervous and was sweating profusely despite the 38 degree ambient temperature. During a subsequent search of the vehicle the deputy located a black vinyl bag containing several clear plastic baggies which contained approximately one quarter pound of suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale and US currency. The subject was arrested and transported to the Amador County Jail for booking.

Detectives with the Amador County Combined Narcotics Enforcement Team (ACCNET) obtained a search warrant for the subject’s residence. During the search warrant execution, detectives located approximately one half pound of marijuana packaged for sale. Additionally, evidence indicative of the use and sales of controlled substances, surveillance equipment and burglary tools were also located at the residence.

Dale Patrick Freeman, 39, of River Pines was booked into the Amador County Jail charged with violations of California Health and Safety Code (H&S) section 11378, possession of a controlled substance for sale; HS section 11359, possession of marijuana for sale; HS section 11377, possession of a controlled substance; and Penal Code section 466, possession of burglary tools.
