Amador County Sheriff's Office encourages residents to take part in Great California Shake Out

Sergeant John Silva of the Amador County Sheriffs office says that part of our continuing effort to prepare Amador County to become more prepared for natural disasters we encourage all residents to participate in the upcoming Great California Shake Out event. beginning 10:17 a.m. on October 17th. Millions of Californians will participate in the event by practicing “Drop Cover and Hold On”.

Last year, over 9.4 million Californians participated in the 2012 Shake Out Drill statewide. Register now and join the goal of 10 million participants in 2013 by practicing earthquake safety!

Sergeant Silva says Californians must get better prepared before the next big earthquake, and practice how to protect themselves when it happens. The purpose of the Shake Out is to help people and organizations do both.
